Chatsum is a FREE add-on for your web browser that lets you chat with all the other Chatsum users that are looking at the same website as you.

Chatsum lets you:

• Chat live with other people who are looking at the same website as you!
• Find out what other people think about the websites you're looking at!
• Leave messages on any website you visit!
• Read messages left on websites by other Chatsum users!
• Browse the Chatsum community's favourite websites!
• Hunt for treasure in our unique online treasure hunts!
• Find people that like the same sites as you and then CHAT TO THEM!

Let's see how it works by looking at the Firefox version:

Chatsum appears as a sidebar in Firefox and monitors which websites we're looking at. Here Chatsum knows that we're looking at news.bbc.co.uk and is telling us that there are 3 other people looking at the same website. Chatsum also shows us the last few messages to be left at news.bbc.co.uk

Using Chatsum we can chat to the other people here by typing messages into the text box.

Chatsum allows us to switch between two modes of chat - 'Site' and 'Page'. Site chat allows everyone browsing a specific site to chat in the same room. Page chat lets you chat about a specific page of a website

If you're not sure where to start, just open the 'Places to Chatsum' drawer. This will show you the most active and most commented on websites, as well as the most recent comments left by Chatsum users. Just click on a link to go straight to that site and join in.

Chatsum is currently available as a beta for Mozilla's Firefox and will shortly be available as a Dashboard Widget for use with Apple's Safari. Please enter your e-mail address into the 'Apply To Beta Test' box on this page and we will contact you with download and installation instructions.
