Hey, I just downloaded Chatsum today, and I think that it has great possibilities. I had been following this and other projects like it (Quick Chat extension for Firefox mostly) and all but Chatsum fell through. I have some ideas that I want to share with you about where I think this product can go, and how to make it better.
1) It must be FASTER. I don’t know if it is your server or the number of images (although the site and layout do look spectacular) but it is very slow.
2) “Dock” to the top, left, right, bottom area of the window, even be able to move freely around the screen (Like GMail Chat lets you).
3) Have the ability to leave “post-its” on websites that can be organized or searched for by date, author, subject (like little e-mails) To be used when no on is one your current site. I think that there is an extension that already does this, so you might want to consider that.
4) A “buddy” and/or “similar surfers” list.
5) Combined with the actual chat window, ideas 3 and 4 should be in tabs to make it easier to navigate. With optional docking abilities within the scrolling window.
6) Locate specific users on a domain name and on similar domains (thereby increasing the networking of the web (Like del.icio.us and Digg Maybe integrate them somehow?) and showing new websites to users.
7) “Invites” from one user to another to different websites to come and chat with you.
8) Modifiable (by the user) CSS documents for the layout/color schemes of the chat window (must be quick-loading).
9) Statistics of how many people are in the channel at each website (this is already done) which can be checked by searching for a domain name and retrieving the data, or by a list that shows the [X] most popular sites of the moment (This is already done, but could be improved).
10) Remain logged into multiple sites at once (Tabs yet again.)
11) Icon for the View > Sidebar menu (I couldn’t find it at first - Put it under the tools context menu?) and launching abilities from the “All-In-One Sidebar” (just like you can choose to see your bookmarks/ extensions/ downloads in it) (basically, make it so you don’t have to (but can) use the view or tools menu to open it).
12) The most important & difficult thing: use as little screen real estate as possible (Option to load in a tab in Firefox, or in a pop out window (like Chatzilla) would be very helpful)

13) At the user profile, to see a list of users who chat on the same websites that you. With a % of coincidence.
14) To see a mark near the avatar of the user that seems like a loudspeaker, it means that user use a sistem like Last.fm, radio.blog, etc. And when you push on that buttom, you can see a webplayer up, like “Places to Chatsum”, and there you can hear the favorites songs of that user, while you are chating.
15) To see the more active webpages by languaje. English webpages, Spanish, French, etc.
16) To use a sistem like meneame.net using that GPL source but to could vote all the webpages when you are navegating. To have votes 0 to 10 of the domine and 0 to 10 of the page.

One thing I would like to see is on what page someone’s last 5 comments were made on? I personally do not comment on every page I come across, especially if I am in page mode on a site like Wikipedia, so my most recent 10 sites visited may not have my most recent comments. Sure, if enough comments have been made, the site may no longer show the comments, but I think it would be nice.

Ability to ‘follow’ a user. Many uses, for example could be used to provide ‘tours’ on the net.

What with other browsers? I have IE - it works too slowly. I prefer to use Opera or Firefox.
